Samsung’s SGH-D307

O2 Xda Atom Pocket PC

We’re kind of over our period of mourning for the Motorola MPx by now, but if you’re still wishing and hoping for some of that flip n’ fold goodness and aren’t too attached to the idea of getting a Windows Mobile smartphone, it might interest you to know we spotted Samsung’s SGH-D307 with Cingular branding the other night here at CTIA. Just to jog your memory, it’s a quad-band number with EDGE and Bluetooth (unlike its tri-band GPRS big brother, the D550). While not the thinnest or the lightest, it’s still sure to turn a few heads for the upper-lower-mid-range qwerty communicator device, especially since its competition Stateside right now is probably going to be the LG9200.

o2 Xda Atom : Smaller and more features than Xda Mini!
Yup, they're at it again! In the next few months, O2 looks set to release another new addition to the Xda family, the O2 Xda Atom. As the name suggests, it is small! In fact smaller than its predecessor the O2 Xda II Mini. However despite the size difference, its bigger on features. Onboard WiFi connectivity, a 2-megapixel camera, integrated FM radio and new OS Windows Mobile 5.0 will come standard on this little gadget. The extra boost to 128MB of flash ROM (from 64MB on the Mini) will also mean that you'll have more memory for your power hungry apps.

It'll be interesting to see how the O2 Xda Atom will compare against the Imate K-Jam/HTC Magician. Hope to post up some comparison results once they become available.

Features of the O2 XDA Atom:
- Windows Mobile 5.0
- Windows Media Player 10
- Integrated FM Radio
- Onboard WiFi (802.11b)
- 2-megapixel digital camera (CMOS)
- Quadband mobile phone
- Video recording and playback
- It's smaller than the O2 XDA II Mini!

Specifications of the O2 XDA Atom:
- Dimensions: 102 x 58 x 18.5 mm
- Weight: 150g
- Bluetooth
- Display resolution: 320 x 240 pixels
- 64MB RAM
- 128MB ROM
- Intel Processor: 416MHz
